CSIA Applauds DHS Cyber Security Appointment

"The appointment of Greg Garcia as assistant secretary for cyber security and telecommunications is a significant step forward by the Department of Homeland Security in the effort to strengthen our national information infrastructure," said Paul Kurtz, executive director of CSIA. "Greg is an excellent choice for the position, bringing both his solid knowledge of information security issues and strong relationships in the private sector to the Department. We look forward to working with him on defining priorities and programs to improve our readiness for a massive disruption involving the information infrastructure."

National Cyber Security Awareness Month - October 2006

National Cyber Security Awareness Month is a national campaign designed to increase the public’s awareness of cyber security and crimes issues, so that users can take precautions to avoid these threats on the Internet.  The month will feature public relations activities, educational programs, events and initiatives throughout October that targets Home Users, Small Businesses, Education audiences (K-12 and higher education), and Child Safety online.
