The time could be right to train for some careers in criminal justice. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics detectives, police and correctional officers and forensic science technicians are among those who might anticipate favorable employment opportunities. If you think a career in criminal justice might be right for you, you might consider enrolling in an Introduction to Criminal Justice course. Students have a variety of criminal justice degree programs at colleges and universities from which to choose, and some of these programs require that students take Introduction to Criminal Justice courses. Among the choices are Bachelor of Arts degrees and Bachelor of Science degrees, the latter of which classically involve more courses related to a student’s major and are more frequently awarded in science and engineering fields as opposed to the humanities. Grace College in Indiana, for example, offers a bachelor of science and a bachelor of arts in criminal justice. Lewis University in Illinois offers a criminal/social justice minor as it does a criminal/social justice Bachelor of Arts degree.

When it comes to forensic science, there are diverse areas such as engineering, toxicology and pathology in which to work, the web site for Arkansas State University shows. Arkansas State’s bachelor’s degrees in forensic science come with an emphasis in biology or chemistry. These degree programs don’t need that students take an Introduction to Criminal Justice course, but the institution’s criminology degree program does. Introduction to Criminal Justice is also required as part of associate degree and bachelor’s degree program in criminal justice that’s proffered by Saint Leo University in Florida. Saint Leo University’s version of Introduction to Criminal Justice is known as Survey of the Criminal Justice System and, in introducing students to the field, the course explores areas such as criminal justice policies, crime prevention programs, courts and corrections and crime-related trends. The institution also proffers bachelor’s degrees in criminalities and homeland security.
